A lot of fish is processed at the Acme Smoked Fish plant at the Pender Commerce Park -- 5.8 million pounds each year -- and company officials want more. So the company is adding a processing line, another smoker chamber and hiring 40 additional employees with the goal of processing more than 7 million pounds of fish, mainly smoked salmon that comes out of the plant ready to eat.
