NC Cape Fear coast sees doubled rainfall this month

Forecasters say rainfall levels are more than twice the normal rate for this time of year on North Carolina's Cape Fear coast.
Citing National Weather Service statistics, the StarNews of Wilmington reports that nearly 5.25 inches (13.3 centimeters) of rain were recorded at the Wilmington National Airport this past week, significantly higher than the normal average rainfall of 1.82 inches (4.6 centimeters) for that period.
