Construction starting on Atlantic Coast Pipeline in NC

Dominion Energy Transmission Inc. says construction of the $6.5 billion Atlantic Coast Pipeline in North Carolina should begin in days, now that federal regulators approved work on two large segments of the pipeline’s roughly 195-mile route through the state.
On Monday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gave Dominion notice that it can proceed with full construction on what appears to be about 115 miles of the route. The “notice to proceed” from FERC authorizes all pipeline construction activities in those areas. That includes moving ground, trenching and laying pipe for the project.
