Scientists predict the world's population -- now 7.6 billion -- will exceed 10 billion by 2050. That's going to require a lot of food, and artificial intelligence is going to play a large role in producing it. Artificial intelligence (AI) describes the ability of machines to learn from experience and to make adjustments in a process based on new inputs. In agriculture, AI will -- it already has in some instances -- allow robots to harvest crops, monitor crop and animal systems, and make actionable predictions.
