Rainfall welcomed by farmers, but Fayetteville total still below average

Despite the frequent heavy storms the past few weeks that drove kids from the swimming pools and caused minor flooding as recently as Sunday, Fayetteville’s official rainfall total for the year remains below average. The recent rain has been welcome for farmers in the Fayetteville region who had concerns about their crops with a dry spell earlier in the summer, an agricultural agent said Monday.
