AgCarolina Farm Credit, eastern North Carolina’s largest agricultural lending cooperative, announces 24 high school and college students will be receiving scholarships totaling $24,750 during 2018. The scholarship program is one component of the lender’s corporate giving program.

Recipients of the $1,000 At-Large Scholarship are Ethan Thompson of Kenly, Dayva Phillips of Farmville, Garrett Lee of Smithfield, and Sarah Lamm of Rocky Mount.

Recipients of the $750 Community College Scholarship are Bobbiann Bowen of Bethel and Brian Hubers of Plymouth.
Three FFA scholarships of $500 each were awarded to Lindsey Askew of Elm City, Claire Stewart of Wake Forest, and Emily Benedict of Kenly.

Recipients of the $500 4-H Scholarship are Kyndalyn Powell of Greenville and Sydney Newbern of Jarvisburg.
In addition to the above scholarships, five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at North Carolina State University. The recipients are Collin Blalock of Wilson, Katelyn Honeycutt of Angier, Justin Spruill of Oriental, Claire Watson of Severn, and Mary Beth Tyndall of Deep Run. Also, five $750 scholarships to the NCSU Ag Institute will be awarded. Recipients of the Ag Institute scholarships are Chase Carawan of Swan Quarter, Grayson Ferrell of Wilson, John Edmondson of Maury, Garland Ferebee of Shawboro, and Dylan Jones of Nashville.

One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student who is currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at North Carolina A&T State University. Student selection for the scholarships at A&T was made by the university, and the recipient is Sharyea Lamadieu-Brown.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at the University of Mount Olive. Student selection for the scholarships at UMO was made by the university, and the recipients are Victoria Johnson of Benson and Kaleigh May of Nashville.
