NASDA CEO joins ag leaders to discuss ramification of nuisance litigation on U.S. agriculture

Following today’s National Ag Leaders Roundtable on the ramification of litigation on agriculture hosted by U.S. Representative David Rouzer, National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) CEO Dr. Barbara P. Glenn issued the following statement:
“Technological and economic changes in agriculture are changing the public view of farming and, in the present environment, the likelihood of a farmer to be involved in a lawsuit is increasing drastically. As our global population continues to grow, and American farmers and ranchers produce the food needed to feed that population, we must participate in community dialogue to share the values of widely accepted agricultural practices,” said Glenn. “What can we learn from one another as rural and urban populations? I know investments in agricultural research to provide sustainable food production technologies to farmers and ranchers - big, small, and in between - is something that we can all feel good about.”
The roundtable was held at the North Carolina State Fairgrounds and attended by U.S. agricultural leaders, including state and federal officials, economists, farmers, and national agriculture industry representatives.
“This was an extremely important conversation as we continually emphasize the balance —that farmers will produce our food, while complying with the law. We thank Congressman Rouzer for hosting this dialogue.”
