14th Annual Commissioner's Food Safety Forum

The Commissioner’s Food Safety Forum is the event to discuss the future of food safety with the nation’s food safety experts, members and staff of the Congressional delegation, industry leaders, regulators, public health officials, emergency management and academia.

Learn how the state’s On-Farm Readiness Review Program will provide fresh fruit and vegetable farmers with resources and information to help them understand the requirements of the Produce Safety Rule, determine if their farm is exempt, assess existing produce safety practices and prepare for inspections. The forum will feature a panel discussion with national and local groups, including United Fresh, NW Horticulture Council and the N.C. Farm Bureau to provide insight into the real-world application of these rules. In addition, there will be an update from FDA leadership on food safety initiatives along with a retailer's perspective on how buyers will utilize FSMA.

Farmers interested in the voluntary review program will also be able to sign up for an On-Farm Readiness Review during the event
