WestRock Co., a manufacturer of paper and packaging products, is laying off 170 employees in Charlotte, North Carolina, after it permanently closes a facility later this year. In a notice sent to the N.C. Department of Commerce this week, the company stated that it will begin firing employees Oct. 19, or within two weeks after that.
