The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association today announced that Ryan Bennett has been appointed executive director of both the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs (US-RSPE) and the International Poultry Welfare Alliance (IPWA), effective Sept. 4.

Bennett formerly served as senior director of industry and environmental affairs at the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF), where he managed a program that evaluates animal care, antibiotic use, environmental stewardship and worker health and safety.

He previously led the NMPF’s government relations portfolio regarding environment conservation and renewable energy, according to a news release announcing his appointment.

In his new role, Bennett will focus on building membership through recruitment within the shared value chain constituency groups at both the US-RSPE and IPWA.
