 Visitors spent $23.99 billion last year in North Carolina, state officials announced Thursday. Visitor spending increased in all 100 counties with the highest amounts being spent in Mecklenburg (5.4 billion), Wake (2.3 billion), Guilford ($1.4 billion), Buncombe ($1.14 billion) and Dare ($1.13 billion) counties.
