Despite Chemours’ efforts to prevent additional contamination of water and air around its Fayetteville Works facility, Cape Fear River Watch and the Southern Environmental Law Center filed suit Wednesday in federal court alleging long-term contamination of groundwater seeping from beneath the complex means the company remains in violation of the federal Clean Water Act.
