SE Rockingham County could get $80M solar farm

An 80-megawatt solar farm could be making its way to the southeast corner of Rockingham County. An application to obtain a certificate of public convenience and necessity has been filed with the North Carolina Utilities Commission for Williamsburg Solar LLC, a potential $80 million photovoltaic solar panel electric facility in the Williamsburg Township near the Guilford County border.
