Due to the impact of Hurricane Florence on pesticide training and recertification, private pesticide applicators will have until Nov. 30 to meet their recertification requirements.

“Several county Cooperative Extension offices are still without power, while others are being used for emergency management operations,” said Jim Burnette, director of the NCDA&CS Structural Pest Control and Pesticide Division. “Many of our recertification programs are held at county extension offices. Additionally, many of the private pesticide applicators in the impacted counties have suffered serious loss and cannot attend recertification before the Sept. 30 deadline.”

Pesticide applicators can call 919-733-3556 with questions about the extension.
