Equestrian center cited for pollution; will clean waterways

Tryon International Equestrian Center says they will clean up nearby waterways after receiving numerous state violations last month for exceeding water pollution standards caused by construction runoff. The scramble to complete construction projects in time for the World Equestrian Games, currently underway at the equestrian center, coupled with significant rainfall this year resulted in increased sedimentation in tributaries around White Oak Creek, a tributary itself to the Green River.
