NCDA will be providing direct assistance with composting and landfill operations. If for whatever reason a producer can’t access those services offered by NCDA, NRCS’ EQIP program may be able to offer assistance but , the applicant must qualify and the installation needs to meet NRCS’ standards and specifications.  NRCS will have the ability to certify installations after the fact (special disaster waiver status) but good/great documentation and photos are important. Please share with any of our clients who may need this info.

Per NCDA guidance, composting and landfill disposals are preferred, burial and incineration are options but not encouraged. Regardless, NRCS recognizes every site and situation are unique and can offer guidance and financial assistance for safe and effective animal mortality disposal for large and small operations. Typical Farm Bill program requirements and eligibility apply; this is a Farm Bill program offering and not directly associated with  emergency response funding.
