Federal judge sides with Atlantic Coast Pipeline over property owners

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit lobbed by advocates and property owners trying to stop efforts by Dominion Energy (NYSE: D) and Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) to forcibly acquire property for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. In a complaint filed last year, a clean energy advocacy group called Bold Alliance had challenged the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s issuance of permits, including those allowing the Atlantic Coast Pipeline to exercise eminent domain rights on properties in West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina.
