USDA’s Animal and Plant Inspection Service (APHIS) said Thursday it has lifted restrictions on imports of some fresh and frozen pork from Poland.

APHIS put those restrictions in place on Oct. 18 while it reviewed Polish export protocols for protecting against the spread of African Swine Fever. Having completed that review, the agency notified Polish authorities that it is lifting restrictions on all establishments located in the contiguous free zones.

However, APHIS said it is retaining restrictions on raw product and heat-treated, but not fully cooked, product from two establishments while the agency completes a more thorough review.
