Early Spotted Lanternfly detection is critical for the future of N.C. Agriculture

The Spotted Lanternfly (Lycorma delicatula) is an emerging invasive pest that was first found in Pennsylvania, in 2014. Since then, it has spread to New York, Delaware, and most recently Virginia. While it is currently not known to exist in North Carolina, early detection is critical for protecting NC businesses and agriculture. The Spotted lanternfly has a wide host range including Ailanthus (tree-of-heaven), fruits trees, grapevines and hardwood trees.
