Duke Energy awards manufacturing grants

Duke Energy has awarded $1.17 million in grants to five North Carolina community colleges. The manufacturing enhancement grants have been awarded since 2004. The latest recipients are Forsyth Technical Community College, $249,439 for an analytical training center; McDowell Technical Community College, for machining programs; Mitchell Community College, $177,500 for an advanced integrated manufacturing system lab; Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, $250,000 for an aseptic bioprocessing suite on the North Carolina Research Campus; and Wilkes Community College, $250,000 for an applied technology center.
