By late next fall, customers of the Fayetteville Public Works Commission should be able to hook into a new solar farm that could help them reduce their electric bills. The PWC’s new farm will be developed on 6 acres by the Butler-Warner Generation Plant at 2274 Custer Ave. It is expected to save the utility more than $10,000 a month in wholesale power costs from Duke Energy. “We are going to be reducing our demand (for wholesale power),” said David Trego, the CEO of PWC.
