Small businesses interested in exporting may qualify for reimbursement of associated costs under several state and federal programs. The N.C. Specialty Food Association (NCSFA) provides its members sponsorship for participation in select international marketing activities organized by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and Southern United States Trade Association (SUSTA). SUSTA offers a 50% cost share program where participants can receive a 50% reimbursement of eligible expenses that promote your brand(s) in foreign markets, such as advertising, exhibiting at international trade shows and much more. The North Carolina STEP Program assists companies with: participating in foreign trade shows and trade missions; optimizing websites to attract foreign buyers; translating marketing materials to reach a broader audience; obtaining services to support foreign market entry; and attending select export education courses. Contact Jen Vogelsberg, STEP Program Manager, at 919-447-7779 or jen.vogelsberg@edpnc.com for more information. Contact Cathy Ma, International Marketing Specialist, 919-707-3132 or cathy.ma@ncagr.gov about opportunities to exhibit at NCDA&CS-sponsored booths at SIAL Canada 2019 and Foodex Japan 2019.
