Following today’s U.S. House of Representatives vote passing the 2018 Farm Bill, Jeff Witte, NASDA President and New Mexico Secretary of Agriculture gave the following statement:

“NASDA congratulates Congress and the House and Senate agriculture committees on passage of the 2018 Farm Bill. This bipartisan legislation will support programs and provide stability that farmers, consumers and communities depend on. We are especially pleased that the bill includes $300 million in new funding over 10 years for animal health programs, investments in promoting agriculture at home and abroad and provisions to support research, conservation and food safety. NASDA thanks House Agriculture Committee Chairman Conaway, Ranking Member Peterson, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Roberts and Ranking Member Stabenow on their work to prioritize a quick vote and passage.”
