GenX levels in air decrease after changes made to Chemours plant in Bladen County, officials say

The levels of the chemical compound GenX in rainwater around the Chemours plant have been decreasing in recent months, indicating that the company’s efforts to reduce air emissions of the compound may be working, state officials say. Chemours installed carbon adsorption bed technology at two key locations at its Bladen County plant in May. The company is also taking other action in an effort to keep GenX and other similar compounds from going into the air.
