As the federal government shutdown enters its 13th day, it could put pressure on local food banks if not resolved soon. Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina receives some of its food in bimonthly shipments from The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), a federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans.
