Nine county governments across North Carolina tried to charge far too much in property taxes on solar farms in their communities in 2016, the state Court of Appeals said in a ruling issued in late 2018. The nine rulings will save most of the solar farms tens of thousands of dollars. For example, CB Bladen Solar LLC in Bladen County appears to be due to have its bill from 2016 reduced by roughly $55,000, based on figures in the court records and Bladen County’s property tax rate.
