Scholarships available from AgCarolina Farm Credit

Twenty-nine college scholarships are available from AgCarolina Farm Credit and will be awarded in the coming months.

College scholarships are one component of The Fund for Rural NC, AgCarolina Farm Credit’s corporate-giving program. Ag loans, special loan programs, educational seminars, grant funds and financial sponsorships to help young and beginning farmers succeed are also provided by the agricultural lender.

Students who are enrolled in an agricultural related degree at North Carolina State University may apply for one of five $2,000 scholarships. Recipients must be children or grandchildren of customers of AgCarolina Farm Credit. Students must apply directly to NCSU. Applications are due by February 15.

In addition, five $750 scholarships will be awarded to students enrolled in the Ag Institute at North Carolina State University. Recipients must be children or grandchildren of an AgCarolina customer. Students must apply directly to NCSU. Applications are due by February 15.

Two $1,000 scholarships are available to students enrolled at the University of Mount Olive. Recipients must be pursuing a degree within the agriculture industry, reside within AgCarolina’s territory, and be the child or grandchild of an AgCarolina member. Applications are due by March 31.

Four $500 FFA scholarships are available to FFA members who are high school seniors, along with two $2,000 scholarships to students attending North Carolina A&T State University. Recipients must be residents of eastern North Carolina. Applications are due by March 31.

Four $1,000 “At-Large” college scholarships will be awarded to recipients who are attending or plan to attend a 4-year college or university within North Carolina. The “At-Large” scholarships are non-degree specific and recipients must be the children or grandchildren of customers of AgCarolina Farm Credit. The deadline for applications is March 31.

Five $750 Community College scholarships will be awarded to recipients who are attending or plan to attend a community college within North Carolina. Applicants must be a child or a grandchild of an AgCarolina Farm Credit member. The deadline for applications is March 31.

Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to recipients who are members of 4-H with plans to continue their education at a four-year North Carolina college or university. Applicants must be a child or grandchild of an AgCarolina Farm Credit member. The deadline for applications is March 31.
