The Federal Emergency Management Agency has approved $41.5 million in hurricane relief for the state, according to a press release on Friday. The money will reimburse North Carolina Emergency Management "for emergency response activities during Hurricane Florence," the release read. Hurricane Florence slowly crawled through the state in September, causing catastrophic flooding in various areas. Emergency response included search and rescue, shelters, four emergency operations centers, and setting up emergency staging areas, among other items, the release said.
