Manufacturing plant to shut down in eastern N.C.

Three years after one round of cuts, an eastern North Carolina manufacturing plant is closing completely – an action that means 63 layoffs. Ex-Cell Home Fashions, Inc., a subsidiary of Glenoit LLC and an affiliate of Croscill Home LLC, notified the state Feb. 27 that it would be shuttering its Goldsboro facility. According to the disclosure, made available Thursday by the N.C. Department of Commerce, the layoffs will happen on May 31.
