With Congress seat possible, NC urges census participation

With encouraging prospects for additional congressional representation and federal dollars, North Carolina needs to do all it can to ensure the most accurate and complete census count next April, state officials said Monday. Gov. Roy Cooper, a Cabinet member and other government and nonprofit leaders held a news conference to mark the one-year countdown to the decennial national census required by the U.S. Constitution. Cooper created a state Complete Count Commission several months ago designed to promote the count so all families and individuals living in the state on April 1, 2020, participate.
