Chinese importers made a rare move these days and ordered up their largest United States corn purchase since October 2013, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agriculture Service said March 22, a rare sale of the grain in the middle of the U.S.-China trade war. FAS said in a report that private exporters sold 300,000 tonnes of the grain for shipment in the 2018-19 marketing year, which ends on Aug. 31.
