On Tuesday, the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Agriculture held a hearing titled, “The Rural Economy.”  Today’s updates provides a brief recap of some of the issues that were discussed at the Subcommittee meeting. In his opening remarks, Subcommittee Chairman Sanford D. Bishop, Jr. (D., Ga.) pointed out that, “This discussion comes at a critical time for our farmers, ranchers, producers, and rural communities.
