Mostly dry conditions prevailed in Pender County this week. Heavy rainThursday/Friday stopped corn planting into the weekend. Some corn has been planted and has emerged but soil temperatures are cool. Pastures are slowly recovering from fall floods and a cool spring. Mark Seitz or Tim Matthews – Pender County Extension

Growing conditions for pastures and winter wheat are good. Temperatures and rainfall near normal with "Average Wet" soil conditions. Robert Hawk – Swain County Extension
