Newport, the top-selling U.S. menthol cigarette from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., took the biggest hit in the latest version of Brand Finance U.S. 500, an annual ranking of consumer-product brand values. Newport fell 49.1%, or from $5.49 billion to $2.79 billion, in brand value, and from No. 125 to No. 294 in the ranking. Camel, another Reynolds brand, dropped 33.8%, or from $5.93 billion to $3.93 billion, and from No. 115 to No. 218. For more of this story, click here.
