Starting June 1, 2019, FSIS will assess a fee to exporters that choose to apply for export certificates electronically through the export component of the agency’s Public Health Information System (PHIS).  Assessment of the fee will be announced in the Federal Register on April 29, 2019.

The electronic export application and certification process provides service options to U.S. exporters, enabling them to electronically submit, track, and manage their export applications. To cover the costs of providing this service, the agency established in its regulations a formula-based fee for electronic export applications (9 CFR 350.7(e-g). The 2019 fee is $4.01 per application.  The fee will be updated on an annual basis and published in the Federal Register no later than 30 days prior to its assessment.

FSIS began implementing the PHIS Export Component on June 29, 2018, with a limited number of countries, and is gradually expanding the PHIS Export Component to additional countries.
