State inspectors have seen an uptick in the number of credit card skimmers found inside gas pumps this year, particularly in Johnston County, but there’s not much drivers can do about it. That’s because thieves install the devices where people can’t see them, leaving no way for drivers to tell whether their credit or debit card information is being collected for nefarious purposes.
