The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, Dare County Board of Commissioners Chairman Bob Woodard and Nags Head Mayor Ben Cahoon will host mayors from several coastal counties for a mayoral roundtable in Manteo on May 8.

Topics for discussion will focus on coastal protection, with a specific emphasis on risks posed by offshore oil and gas exploration and seismic testing, as well as coastal community engagement and federal rulemaking.

Mayors and commissioners representing various municipalities in the state’s coastal counties will attend.
