Board of Agriculture will meet May 15 in Raleigh

The N.C. Board of Agriculture will hold its quarterly meeting Wednesday, May 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Eaddy Building, Agronomic Services Offices, 4300 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh.  

The board will take up the following items:
• Consider an increase in facility rental price rates at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.
• Consider revisions to the imported fire ant quarantine.
• Consider a contract feeder exemption request from Performance Livestock and Feed Co.
• Receive an update on the 2018 disaster relief program and a preview of the Got to Be NC Festival.
• General rule-making and other business.

About the Board of Agriculture
The Board of Agriculture is a policymaking body that adopts regulations for many of the programs administered by the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Members are appointed by the governor. The commissioner of agriculture serves as chairman of the board.
