U.S. Produce in Canada:
U.S. consumer-ready agricultural products are popular amongst Canadian buyers; in fact one of the most popular categories of consumer ready agricultural exports includes fresh fruits and vegetables. Canada relies heavily on imported produce due to limited growing seasons. In 2017, the US was the leading exporter of most agricultural products to Canada, including vegetables ($2.5 billion CAD) and fruits and nuts ($2.6 billion CAD). Trade between these two nations is facilitated by their proximity, common language, and similar lifestyles.

In 2017, SUSTA organized its first successful Canada Inbound Produce Trade Mission to Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina, which resulted in new sales opportunities for several of the participating companies. This inbound trade mission offers SUSTA-registered companies the possibility to come into contact and meet with pre-qualified buyers from Canada.
