Hot weather playing impact for farmers, schools and elderly

The heat is making us all sweat. The conditions aren't getting much better as Eastern North Carolina struggles with the hot weather and the lack of much-needed rain. The heat is making it tough for schools which have to burn a lot of electricity to keep classrooms cool. It's especially hard for the elderly, who in many cases only have a box fan and no air conditioner. For farmers, it's difficult because they rely on the rain to grow crops.
