As the calendar turned to May Nash Produce was focusing on its 2019 harvest, hoping for growth over what it experienced in 2018. “Due to low prices on sweet potatoes for the last few years, farmers planted fewer acres in 2018. Then two hurricanes hit eastern North Carolina. Both of these took a huge hit on the sweet potato supply,” said Tami Long, director of marketing and business development for the Nashville, NC-based company.
