As the summer approaches, the three-cornered alfalfa hopper, Spissistilus festinus, captures are picking up in both sticky traps and sweep net samples, but overall numbers still remain low. We are also starting to observe Japanese beetle and stink bugs occasionally, but we do not recommend pesticide use against these insects in most cases. Refer to the Southern Region Small Fruit Consortium Bunch Grape and Muscadine IPM Guides for pest management information.
