Rains thwart expanding drought in eastern Carolinas

In its latest update, U.S. Drought Monitor, a division of NOAA, lists most of the eastern Carolinas some sort of drought designation. Recent rains have significantly halted its expansion, through. Your First Alert Forecast features zero rain chances for Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15... and modest rain chances for the following next week: wect.com/weather. The character of the ongoing drought is “agricultural” and you are advised to be cautious with flame and strategic with any irrigation over Father’s Day weekend.
