The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) continues to release special reports generated from the 2017 Census of Agriculture with the latest reports being the State and County Profiles.

“The State and County Profiles pull together a snapshot of the agriculture industry at both the county and state levels. The profiles include information on commodities, land use practices, market value of sales, and producer demographics. Providing this “snapshot” of North Carolina’s agricultural landscape provides valuable insight which will assist farmers, support agencies, private industry and policy makers over the next several years.” said Dee Webb, NASS North Carolina State Statistician.

Additional reports to be released this summer are the 2017 Congressional District Profiles and Rankings, the 2017 Census by Watersheds Report and the 2017 Census by American Indian Reservations Report. Census results are available in many online formats including video presentations, a new data query interface, maps, and traditional data tables. All Census of Agriculture information is available at www.nass.usda.gov/AgCensus. To stay connected with NASS follow on Twitter @usda_nass for the latest data release and information about upcoming surveys and censuses.

“Agriculture has a major impact on North Carolina’s economy and I want to thank all of our farmers and producers that took the time to participate in the 2017 Census of Agriculture.” said Webb. “They used their voice to help shape their future by taking the opportunity to tell their story.”
