The Republican race to fill the U.S. House seat formerly held by Rep. Walter Jones has attracted outside money and attack ads — dividing representatives from across the country. An important local voice will weigh in Thursday morning. Joe Anne Jones, Jones’ widow, will attend a news conference with pediatrician Joan Perry in Greenville to address reports about Walter Jones’ support for his successor. Walter Jones died in February.
