USDA announced June 20 its plans to invest up to $75 million in the Feral Swine Eradication and Control Pilot Program to respond to the threat feral swine pose to agriculture, native ecosystems, and human and animal health.

The first round of pilot projects in the program are going to be offered in 10 states (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas) with the highest feral swine populations and where they have been identified as a threat, as determined by the Secretary.
