General Assembly overrides farm lawsuits bill

 Houses leaders are responding to a lawsuit challenging legal protections for agriculture communities in the east. On Wednesday, several environmental groups filed a lawsuit over those new legal changes, seeking to have them overturned. The state General Assembly approved two bills in response to nuisance lawsuits. Lawmakers created the legislation to protect farms from cases where the agriculture operation was not subject to a criminal conviction or civil enforcement action.
