With immigration restrictions, trade negotiations and retaliatory tariffs, importing labor has been a challenge for mid-Atlantic produce growers who depend on the resource. Most of these workers come to the farms through the H-2A temporary agricultural program. It’s a way for nonimmigrant foreign workers to come to the U.S. to perform agricultural labor or services on a temporary or seasonal basis. For more of this story, click here.
