North Carolina House Bill 483, Let Them Spawn, has passed by a vote of 58 to 47 and moves on to the state Senate for a vote, according to a press release from the North Carolina Wildlife Federation. The bill aims to establish minimum size limits for several recreational and commercial fish species to combat critical declines, according to the release. It ensures that 75% of several historically significant fish species reach maturity and have the opportunity to spawn at least once.
