The Trump Administration today appointed Robert Hosford to serve as State Director for USDA Rural Development in North Carolina.
 

As State Director, Hosford will use his leadership experience to oversee Rural Development programs in a customer-focused manner to restore prosperity in rural North Carolina.

  Hosford was born and raised on a diversified livestock and row crop operation in Mississippi. He began his career as the Director of Agriculture Policy with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association. In 2004, President George W. Bush appointed Hosford to serve as the confidential advisor to the Administrator of USDA’s Farm Service Agency.

  Most recently, Hosford worked with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in a variety of roles, including a position in intergovernmental and military affairs.

  Hosford began his new role on July 22, 2019.
